Modalities of Patient Care in Psychedelic Integration Therapy

Updated: Apr 3

What is Integration Therapy? Integration Therapy is the process of taking information from a scene, figuring out what that information means in general, figuring out what it means for you personally and then integrating the newly discovered wisdom into one’s default world.

In Psychedelic Integration Therapy (PIT) the psychedelic experience becomes that scene with which one extracts said personal information for later integration.

Therefore Psychedelic Integration Therapy is the process of taking information from a psychedelic episode, figuring out what that information means in general, figuring out what it means for you personally and then integrating the newly discovered wisdom into one’s everyday life.

Bringing back information to our default world from a trans-dimensional journey through inner-space is often difficult and energy consuming. This is true regardless of whether that dimension is spatial or internal.

These works are profound, moving, sometimes painful. For many, when properly prepared, this experience is transformative. However, some will struggle to make sense of this information. This can leave one confused and unsure of what and how to interpret this particular breed of unfamiliar. The purpose and willful intention of Psychedelic Integration Therapy is the bringing back, the making sense, and the integrative evolution of our daily lives.

To the uninitiated the term Psychedelic Integration Therapy might evoke thoughts of hippies, counterculture or the decades of purposeful stigmatization by the dominant power structures of our respective cultures. To others the words Psychedelic Integration Therapy may sound like the right thing at the right time. Thinking of the past, it is unfortunate that America’s Greatest Generation did not have safe access to psychedelic therapy to help them deal with often massive levels of shellshock. We now know that “shellshock” is better termed Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder (PTSD). If the soldiers that served our great nation During WWI, WWII, Korean War and the VietNam War (police action) had been able to make use of Psychedelic Integration Therapy back then, it is arguable that we would have collectively had healthier American homes and families for the last several generations.

All Schedule 1 controlled substances in the U.S.A., including MDMA, Ayahuasca, Psilocybin, LSD are illegal. The exception to this rule involves FDA research programs. This means that practitioners of Psychedelic Integration Therapy may NOT give you access to psychedelics. While this creates a very limiting clinical care situation there are still non-drug induced psychedelic states that one may enter involving trance inducing shamanological drumming or holotropic breathing exercises as perfected by Kriya-yoga.

If a patient “goes-underground” (uses illegal methods) to procure their own psychedelic experience in a manner that is intentional and records the information with sound recording and written notes, then it is possible to integrate information brought back in this way, while in the care of a trained therapist. Yet, until the laws change, one’s own procurement of psychedelic experience is dangerous in addition to being illegal. Due to this fact procuring one’s own psychedelic experience in the USA is heavily advised against. For this part, you are better advised to plan a trip to Amsterdam, Canada, Jamaica or Peru.

After the unfamiliar psychedelic experience, certain individuals may find it challenging to return to our daily lives. It can be difficult when someone has so much of their own psyche come into focus at once and then at other times be left with critical questions that lead to self-discovery and greater degrees of contentment.

Following a Harm Reduction model Psychedelic Integration Therapy can offer a non-judgmental, compassionate space to support one’s personal growth and evolution while exploring options with willful intentionality in order to fully process your experience.

Psychedelic Integration Therapy is not just to help individuals with PTSD. Psychedelic Integration Therapy can help with wide variety of issues including but not limited to:

Psychedelic Integration Therapy offers a safe space for those who have used, are currently involved with, or intend to use psychedelic substances. As of 2021, Psychedelic Integration Therapy, in the USA will not involve providing or prescribing any scheduled drug, psychedelic or otherwise, to any client during the course of therapy. Our practitioners will NOT refer patients to “underground” resources, they will NOT recommend use, they will NOT guide a psychedelic experience, they will NOT supervise or otherwise be present with any client during their psychedelic experience. Unless prescribed by a doctor, do NOT plan to attend therapy sessions under the influence of any controlled substance.

Thank you for being you. May you thrive.”
